Why does 那 look like this?

This character is made of two parts: '冉' (rǎn) on the left, which originally depicted a fur garment, and the '阝' (邑 yì) radical on the right, which represents a 'city' or 'town'. While it originally named a specific place, it's now most commonly used as a friendly pointer for things that are 'that' way or 'over there'!
